The Gorgeous Lake District

We were lucky enough to spend a few days in Ambleside in the Lake District a couple of weeks ago.  We were celebrating our wedding anniversary – 9 years!  We got married in the Lake District as we just love the place and you’re never short of fantastic locations for wedding photography.  We also travel here a lot to do our lifestyle portrait shoots as the family portrait photographs look amazing up here.  The weather is so varied that it makes the shoots quite exciting and often fun if you’re dashing for shelter whilst admiring the amazing rainbows.

We took a little cruise along Windermere, and whilst we were sat relaxing wondering whether or not to put sun screen on, in the distance we could see an amazing storm with loads of thunder and lightning.

We were treated to a little boat show too.  They had all camped out at Brockhole the previous night and were making their way into Bowness.  They had Barbie boats, rowing boats, birthday boats, olympic boats and even a Royal boat.  Queen Elizabeth gave us a wave!

The Lake District is literally an hour’s drive away from us, we’re so lucky to live near one of the most wonderful places ever.  And we’re even more lucky to do our wedding photography and portrait photography in the Lakes.  Long may it continue.

Enjoy the photos

I ofetn forget to take my camera, and inevitably regret it, since there is always something beautiful to see. I love boats and water, and the Lake District sounds like a fun place to visit.
