Mitton Hall Wedding

Let’s just PARTY!!!

Mari and Andy met us at the Great Northern Wedding Show some time back. (I can’t believe it’s been going for that long!)

We went to their house for a pre-wedding consultation and immediately fell in love with their gorgeous little pug, Claude. Check him out here – he’s a real poser. ¬†They told us all about their plans for their wedding at Mitton Hall and we just knew it was going to be a fund wedding.

Mari and Andy got married at Mitton Hall (massive thanks to all the staff there who are simply wonderful) and the venue looked amazing. They even had the fire crackling because whilst it looks sunny, it was quite a chilly day.

Mari is originally from Scotland and throughout the wedding there were beautiful Scottish touches. Her mum did all the wedding flowers and they looked amazing, especially with splashings of thistle and tied perfectly with tartan. And get a load of that morning sun – the first bouquet photograph was taken in their yard in Burnley (it looks like a gorgeous sunny day in Italy!).

Mari, her dad and her bridesmaids all arrived at Mitton Hall in a silver grey Volkswagon Splitscreen Campervan. And they arrived to a rather nervous Andy! He had looked so relaxed all morning and was laughing and joking during his groom preps but the whole room got emotional as Mari walked down the aisle. Which isn’t surprising as she looked amazing in her dress.

After the ceremony everyone nipped outside for some drinks, fresh air and a couple of pics. This is where the fun started and continued throughout the day. Mari and Andy are certainly a very friendly couple who just love to have fun and all their friends were exactly the same. This wedding was full of laughter and hugs and lots of silly poses and was an absolute joy to shoot.

When it came time for the speeches again we weren’t disappointed and all 3 speeches were brilliant. Definitely tears and nerves but completely overcome with full on belly laughs. The guests reactions were brilliant!

Mari’s mum had done an amazing job decorating the room and it looked amazing. Mari’s auntie had also made the gorgeous naked cake and it was fantastic (very tasty too as we were treated to a couple of slices for the journey home).

Mari and Andy had hired The Funtime Frankies and the dj, Lee MacGregor from Dancefloor Couture, to play at their wedding and you can tell from the party pics they had a brilliant night. We stayed on afterwards with our photobooth and couldn’t help but snap away at everyone dancing. I think it’s obvious from the pictures they all knew how to party. And check out the last picture. This happened just as we were leaving. I wonder how far they got!!

Moments that stole the day

The best mens’ speech. It was such a good speech (even if they did admit to being really nervous about it as they had to modify it hours earlier!).
The people. This couple are so lovely and this is reflected in all their family and friends.
The party, and boy was it a party. We’ve kept the censored image private of the ‘true’ scotsman in his kilt!!
