It suddenly dawned on us today that we have been in business 5 years.

Let me just say that again – FIVE YEARS!!!

Now in terms of a lot of businesses this isn’t a long time, but for us it’s a massive achievement.

Especially when we consider the following –
We started the business during a massive recession
We had a 3 year old and a 1 year old
We had only 1 income coming in (and it was pretty crap too)
We knew nothing about running our own business

But we gave it a go and tried as hard as we could to make this business a success.

Now we can definitely say it hasn’t been easy. Actually raising kids is easier than having your own business. This business has caused us so much stress we have no idea why we didn’t quit after a year or two.

Well, actually we know full well why we didn’t quit and that’s simply because we love our job. And we love most aspects of it (not the accounting but we have the most amazing accountants ever!!!).

This business has brought us in touch with some amazing people. People who we would never have met if we hadn’t started it. And one is babysitting for us tonight while we go out to celebrate! Massive thanks to Karen Lee from Hello Brolly!

We’ve met some amazing wedding suppliers that have become lovely friends, Liz & Mark, Megan & Daz, Jaime & Pete, Charlotte, Duncan, Vicki and Brian, Jeane, Janet, Kenny, Joanne to name but a few.

We’ve also met some amazing people in business themselves who put all their efforts into helping others – Catherine, Niel, Andrea, Sue. You’ve given us so much help and support over the past years. From the joy, laughter and euphoria to the tears and stress and general moans of running a business.

Without you we would have had no-one to turn to.

And our amazing family. To our parents who have happily had the kids every single time we’ve had to work an evening or a weekend – you are simply the best and we love you so much.

To our kids who have no idea what it’s like to have ‘normal’ parents who have every weekend off. Luckily you have never known anything else but you do get to go camping for weeks and weeks during the summer holidays!! One day you’ll realise why we never had ‘normal’ jobs.

And finally the biggest thank you has to go to all our amazing couples, families and faces that we’ve shot. Some of you have become very good friends and will remain very good friends. Thank you so much for trusting us with such important events in your life and thank you for making us feel so welcome whenever we meet up. We NEVER, EVER have a bad day at work. We might be absolutely shattered by the end of it but we’ve enjoyed every single wedding and we remember every single wedding too. You’re all amazing.

And now we’re off out to celebrate! We wonder what the next 5 years will bring us!!

Lots and Lots of Love

Lizz & Archie

Hats off to you for running a business and bringing up a family too – totally in awe of that.
I know just how hard you have worked and I really cannot think of 2 more people more deserving of success.
