Lake District Coppermine Cottage Wedding

This is certainly a case of rain doesn’t stop play for this fun loving wedding.

Helena and Adam were married at the Waterhead Hotel in Coniston earlier in the year.  They travelled up to the Coppermine Cottages to celebrate their wedding where they were staying with family and friends.

We arrived early in the morning on a wet and dreary day but our spirits were soon lifted when we entered the most hilarious bridal preps. Helena and Adam were staying in the same venue but were getting ready in different areas. However, Adam, who was the busiest Groom ever, needed Helena’s advice for a few things. So they improvised and shielded themselves with walls, curtains and Adam even put a towel over his head at one point! Needless to say we laughed the whole way through, I’m sure the pictures will explain why!

The couple had arranged to have a marquee attached to the side of the coppermines and it was beautifully decorated throughout with flowers all along the tables and lots of references to Helena and Adam’s travels (of which they’ve had, and continue to have many).

The guests were treated to some scrumptious paella made outside while sheltering from the rain. And they definitely needed to shelter because the heavens opened for a good while.

But I doubt the guests even noticed the rain. They were far too busy enjoying themselves putting flowers in their hair, taking selfies and trying to win at Heads Up. They were a joy to shoot as their facial expressions were fantastic and they certainly threw some shapes on the dancefloor!

Moments that stole the day

The funniest bridal preps ever. It’s fair to say our stomachs ached from laughing too much.
The endless smiles from everyone at the wedding.
The amazing views from high above the hills (when the cloud and rain finally passed).
